About five weeks ago, I was just thinking what I could gain and what kind of jobs I would do from the internship. my internship supervisor introduced me to a company called "Job2Go" which gives job opportunities for immigrants in Australia. When I knew the company name, it caught my attention and I immediately googled what exactly this company does, because all I could prepare was being familiar with my new work place. Before the internship, I met some of my friends from the home university. They seemed confident and I could not feel any anxieties from them so I tried to be composed and enthusiastc like them whrn the first day has commenced ; however, it was far from my expectation and my host supervisor was not in the workplace. I was really confused about what I needed to do, so I asked other workers what my job is, then one of them emailed the supervisor and told me a job which was data entry. During the first week, I kept doing data entry using Microsoft Exccel and I was expecting the supervisor to give me a different task, but the situaton has not changed even the following week, so I decided to ask my intern supervisor to change the workplace.
After a week, I got a message from her ant it was about the new company information. Therefore, I could work that company from week four to the last day. Part of what the company does is multicultural pastoral care which I have never heard in my life, but the environment was so impressive that I could enjoy working and focus on doing my own tasks. Although my working duration at the company was only two weeks, every worker in the office was friendly and supportive to me. What I have learnt from the company was how to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Editor and some office machines. In addition to this, I learned how to arrange and analyze collected information. These tasks were not so dificult as I expected, but I could improve the skill of Microsoft Word and learn how to use a range of office machines. The experiences from the company were so much more than previous company experiences and I was able to know the differences between Australian company and Japanese company. Therefore, I had valuable experiences from five weeks internship program and I believe it will be a great advantage for me to succeed in my future carrier.

My plan for the rest of Australian life
Although I have
been in Australia since end of the March, there are several places I have never
visited. Australia has a variety of extreme adventures such as bangy jump,
surfing, etc. Such attractions are really fascinating for me and I want to
visit and try them before I leave Australia. What I am eager to do now is
surfing. Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast would be a suitable place to fulfill my
expectation. These resort places have certain magnificent beaches, so it would
be a wonderful and enjoyable moment if I visited there, however there are two preparations
I have to immediately do before surfing. I need to strengthen my ankle and body
balance because I twisted right ankle last month while kicking a ball and this
is the second time to sprain the ankle since I came here. It is also necessary
for me to purchase surfing board and sun’s cream. These items can be essential
to enjoy the surfing and to avoid harmful UV.
I still have
about three months to stay Australia and the internship will begin from
November. Honestly, I feel insecure about that and I have not confidence to do
well at the new workplace, so I need to build my confidence to speak and study
English gradually. Staying at a different
country is not as easy as I expected it, but I want to enjoy the rest of Australian
life to the fullest so that I would have no regrets even if I went back to
Japan.

Session Break
During my recent session break, I visited a few places around Brisbane. the most memorable and favorite place I visited was Lone Pine Koala sanctuary in Fig Tree Pocket in North West Brisbane. At that sanctuary, you can see many of Australia's indigenous animals such as kangaroos, koalas, wombats, etc.
the sanctuary is well known as the oldest and largest koala sanctuary in the world.

This was the second time I have visited Lone Pine Koala sanctuary and again I found it really fascinating as it seemed like "another world". When I was eight, I visited the sanctuary with my family and was not as interested as I was at my current age. My memory of the sanctuary as an eight year old is unclear but my recent visit has left me with the image of a massive sanctuary.
I saw magnificent eagles which are also known as "birds of prey" and amazing to watch. I also watched a sheep shearing exhibit. I cannot say which exhibit or animal I preferred as I found all facts of the sanctuary impressive!!

My New Hobby
A couple of months ago I bought my own bicycle. the main reasons I bought it was to save money and do exercise. Actually I didn't know much about bicycles so I just bought a cheap one. However, it has made a difference!! Every Monday to Friday I ride it to and from university. The first two weeks were tough because Brisbane roads are much hillier than they are in Japan and it took a long while to get used to them. Now I quite enjoy cycling! I think the bicycle is becoming an essential item in my life and it has become one of my hobbies!!
I still have about 5 months left before I leave Brisbane. I want to continue to take care of myself and to find new interests.

My Favorite Athlete
One
of my favorite athletes is Shinji Kagawa, Japanese professional soccer
player. Currently,
he is a member of
Japanese national team and most Japanese people know him as a famous
athlete. He started his professional career in Cerezo
Osaka which is a Japanese professional
soccer team. After two years, he joined German
club, Borussia Dortmund. He had great
impact
in German league, so in 2012, he could move to Manchester United from
Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester United is one
of the most popular sports team in the world.
This team won 62
trophies, including 20 English Premier League titles
over the years. This news made me
surprised and excited. The reason why he
could join the Manchester United is he is able to
play simple passes, long
passes and creative passes and also, he can play 3~4 positions. He
encouraged me to have a confident because,
he is small like me, and however he has the ability
to draw opposing players
out of position with his unpredictable runs and sharp movement.
Obviously, Kagawa is a world class soccer
player and his play will attract lots of people from
now.

My First 4 Weeks in Brisbane
About a
month ago, I arrived at Brisbane. The
first time when I came here was just fantastic! Everything is so different from Japan and I’m having a wonderful day at
ICTE-UQ. I feel like at home and can
relax because the weather in Brisbane is really comfortable for me and the
staffs at ICTE-UQ are really nice, so it didn’t take so much time to adapt the
life in Brisbane.
Also, I enjoyed
playing some sports activities at UQ. I played
tennis and Indoor-soccer with lots of international students however, when I played
indoor-soccer, I twisted my ankle and it hasn’t recovered yet. I hope it’ll be
better soon and I want to visit lots of places where I never have been.
